“The community members brought up pragmatic concerns that I wouldn't understand unless I were involved in their spaces… It also showed me how difficult it is to be pragmatic when dealing with some populations while still serving the ones you are concerning yourself with… Also, stepping away from design/architecture lingo was helpful to make sure that our project could still be legible to stakeholders.”
